CARING FOR A MOTORHOME IN WINTER

All motorhomes have Truma heating.

The floors in the motorhome are not heated (eg underfloor heating) and are cold in winter, so we recommend that you bring a carpet or slippers.

All winter-ready motorhomes have winter tires. If you know it will be in a location where you will be snowing, ask for winter chains.

WATER

1. The motorhome must be heated to a minimum of 8 degrees! Even when you are not in the vehicle or in case you return with motorhome in the afternoon and return it to us the next day.
2. If the indoor temperature in the motorhome falls below 8 degrees C, the water heater tank opens for safety reasons and clean water starts to flow out of the motorhome.
3. In case this happens to you, you must first heat the motorhome back, close the valve and only then can you use the water.
4. If the internal temperature in the motorhome drops below 8 degrees, the motorhome must first be heated and only then can the water pump be switched on again. DO NOT TURN IT ON BEFORE.
5. Faucets in a motorhome can burst very quickly if the water in them freezes. In case your temperature in the motorhome drops below 0 degrees and there is a possibility that the water in the system will freeze, first heat the motorhome to 20 degrees and only then can you open the taps and turn on the pump.

HOW TO CLOSE THE WATER HEATER TANK WATER DISCHARGE VALVE:

Location of valves by motorhomes:

• MALIBU: open the first cover on the floor

WATER HEATER TANK VALVE: The green arrow indicates the valve with which you can open / close the valve for draining water from the heater. When it is in the position as in the picture, it means that the heater is closed.

A red arrow indicates the button to close the heater. In case it is in the same position as in the photo, it means that you need to start heating the motorhome, when the motorhome is warm enough, press the button inside. If the button does not want to stay inside (we assume that the valve above is in the same position as in the picture), it means that you need to heat the motorhome even more. Once the button stays inside, you can add water to the tank.

EMPTYING THE CLEAN WATER TANK AND THE WATER HEATER TANK:

In winter, it is necessary to drain all the water every time you completely turn off the motorhome, especially the heating.

Emptying the water heater tank: turn the valve marked with a green arrow in the picture in the other direction (longitudinally to the "box"). The button below pops out (as shown above by the red arrow). The water pump must be switched off during this time! (In the instructions you can find a separate explanation for the control panel where the location of the water pump is written).

Draining clean water from the tank:

AHORN: The tank is located under the bench. Remove the cushion and open the wooden lid. Under this lid you can see a plastic tank with a red lid. Unscrew this lid and get to the water. You have to cut the tank to the pin with your hand and pull it out. Now the water started flowing out of the tank.

GIOTTILINE: under the table in the dynet / central part we see small doors, if we open this door, we can see the pipe and the valve. We just turn it over and the water starts flowing from the tank. ATTENTION: for semi-integrated models (T36, T34, T32…) we might have to first lift the wooden board with which we can expand the seat part. Behind this board are a door where you can find a valve to drain the water.

In case you can't find this valve, you can drain the water from the motorhome in the same way as with Ahorn.

It is also necessary to open all three taps in the motorhome. The taps must be in the middle (ie between cold and warm water), and the shower head must be placed at the lowest possible point - on the floor.

When the water in the motorhome is almost drained, the water pump is switched on 3 times for 10 seconds, so that it finally drains the remaining water from the pipes and taps.

WASTEWATER / GREY WATER

Motorhomes generally have a heated wastewater tank which means the water in the tank will not freeze. However, it is still best to empty it as often as possible. you have the tank open at low temperatures so that the water flows out (set up a bucket below).

ELECTRICITY AND BATTERIES:

1. Motorhomes have two batteries each. One for the engine part and the other for the living area.
2. In winter, the batteries need to be taken even better care of (they drain even faster due to the cold), so we recommend that you connect as much as possible to 220V - at least every other day.
3. With an empty / bad battery, no heating system will work for you, as the Truma needs electricity to blow out the air.
4. The power cord is available at the motorhome. In case you already know in advance that the camp is very full or the electricity connections are very far away, take an extension with you (or let us know that you will need it).

HEATING - TRUMA:

When you pick up the motorhome, you get two cylinders. One full and the other as left to the party in front of you or at least half. You also get pliers to change the cylinder.

Motorhomes have heating with the Truma system. Different models of motorhomes have different heating options. MALIBU and AHORN have gas heating, while GIOTTILINE and SIENA mostly combine gas + electricity or Diesel + electricity.

In winter, you need gas for heating. One cylinder of gas can withstand 2-3 days of constant heating. If you have rented a motorhome for a long time, you have to pay extra for an extra cylinder of gas.

You can also keep the gas cylinder open while driving (unless prohibited in certain countries / regions). All motorhomes have "crash sensors" that stop the gas supply in the event of an accident. ATTENTION! If an accident occurs, collide in the area where the cylinder is, still check further and close the cylinder!

CYLINDER REPLACEMENT: In case you run out of gas, error E112H is displayed on the Truma panel.

1. First you need to replace the cylinder, which you then open (turn the valve in the direction of the letter O).
2. When the cylinder is open, press the button on the tube for 3-5 seconds to release the gas further into the tube.

3. If the motorhome has an additional regulator and a yellow or green button has jumped out on it, press this one inside.

When you replace the cylinder and the error on the panel does not disappear, turn off the panel inside or. reset:

1. Press and hold the rotary knob in the middle for 10 seconds to turn off the screen.
2. Wait a minute or so.
3. Press the same button back to turn on the panel.
4. When the panel lights up, the error should disappear from the screen and Truma should continue to operate normally.

If an error still appears on the screen, it is necessary to reset the stove (Truma has been operating for too long without gas supply). Our employees will advise you on how to do this. It is best to call one of the numbers you have on your car keys.

HEATING GAS + ELECTRICITY

If the motorhome has heating in a combination of gas + electricity, you must pay attention to how you set Trauma. If you heated yourself at the last stop with electricity, but now you do not have the option of connecting to 220V, then you need to set the stove on the Truma panel so that it will run on gas. In the event of a fault, first set the stove to gas and then reset it as described above.

DIESEL HEATING (+ ELECTRICITY)

If the motorhome has heating in a combination of Diesel + electricity or only Diesel, you must be careful that if you heat with Diesel, you have a Diesel tank at least half full, otherwise the heating works worse or does not work.
